Should you find yourself at a loose end in South London any time then this fantastic homage to retro sporting chic on Ramsden Road is definitely worth a visit. The ‘BBC’ is a former bowling club with garden which has been sexed up so that it's trendy enough for the new young customers whilst still retaining the unspoilt feel of its traditional, humble sporting roots. All dim lamps and cosy nooks for quiet pints, the club’s history is displayed all over its Edwardian panelled walls. It also has a wide programme of events ranging from quiz nights to the eccentric ‘Victorian Circus’ which they held on New Year’s Eve. Whilst the bar snacks might not be the greatest (though you can't go wrong with the chips) it has a lovely cool, cosy feel perfect for dates, catch-ups with mates or a little south of the river licentiousness. Dogs are allowed too... woof!
