Byron and Rupert know exactly what they are doing at this laid back New York-style bar. They've got it all going on: rocking cocktail list, lower East side style vibes, good crowd, and quick, friendly service. Sit by the window during the market, come for Margaritas on a Monday, enjoy the fish tank in the bathroom, play a board game, or head downstairs to see what's going on. The map-like drinks menu is big and full of character, like most things here. It was the autumnal special, the Plum Thyme, that blew BarChick's mind, but try a Yellow Fever or a Sweet Jess and you won't be disappointed.
If it's cold outside, try an alcoholic hot chocolate with hazlenut liqueur, yes. Plus they have some mad bottles behind the bar including a huge bourbon collection, and over 15 types of beer including Lone Star! Great if you are hungry too (and like Mexican), Byron is from LA (although with that tash he could be outta Nacho Libre), and means business when it comes to the Mexican street food served here: quick, fresh and unbelievably good. Just be sure you can handle the spice if you go for the hot salsa and get extra guacamole, it's insane.
