The Riding House Café

Finally, somewhere decent to escape the hectic hoards on Oxford Street. These guys have done this before at their cute Bermondsey spots Village East and The Garrison, so they knew what was what when they opened this modern-day brasserie in Fitzrovia. The room is all elegant pastel booths, chic mismatched furniture, wood-panelled walls and polishedlight fixtures.

The bar is where it's at here, or sit at the long communal table in the center of the room. The creativity ain't just in the decor, they have an impressive amount of beers, wines and ciders, and the cocktails are great. BarChick was hungover and the Penicillin with Chivas and Laphroaig (plus all sorts of medicinal ingredients) fixed her right up! The brunch menu def draws the crowds on a weekend, so you'll need to book!
