Running of the Bulls Festival

If, like BarChick, you like the idea of being chased by a group of around 12 irritable bulls then this is the one for you (BarChick’s dad goes every year)! Whilst wearing a white shirt and trousers with a red neckerchief the aim is to try and slap the bull on the back with a newspaper… but avoid touching the horns or tail as you will offend the locals. Make sure you look where you are running as it’s easy to run into things! Website

Elysium at Prism

For a couple of days the brasserie Prism is launching the Elysium extravaganza. Expect cabaret, burlesque, circus, dancers, singers and illusion. 3-course dinner, cocktails and post dinner drinks with all that entertainment. It’s a must!
Benicassim Festival

This festival is hot and cool, tick (except for when BarChick went there was some kind of hurricane and her tepee blew away). Chill on the beach by day and party all night to the awesome music. The Stone Roses are headlining and Florence + the Machine will get the crowds going. Hit Spain, you won’t regret it this festival is a whole load of fun. Website
Street Feast – Food Night Market
Venue: Sclater Street Car Park

In the site of a former Victorian bird market off Brick Lane, this night food market will have a ‘car wash’ private dining room (5-10 person bookings), a fully licensed bar and 8 international street food stalls serving a mix of Vietnamese, Thai, Mexican and West-Indian cuisine to soak up the booze… you can’t beat a good food market sometimes! Melt Festival
Venue: Ferropolis

With confirmed acts including Lana Del Ray, Bloc Party, Gossip, Armand Van Helden and Rufus Wainwright you are in very safe hands. So head to Berlin for the weekend, and get the overnight train from Cologne to Ferropolis (€99) so that you have a place to sleep – party on board hell yes! Website
