Naming a bar after a 1970s classic porn movie - the days of the wide bush - is a sure fire way to get BarChick interested, and Behind the Green Door doesn't disappoint. In the trendy neighbourhood of Mar Mikhael, pushing back the (yes, you've guessed it...) green door enters you into slightly surreal surroundings. Some people are reclining on cushions on the floor, others relax in large, velvety armchairs, while the deep red patterned carpet and mood lighting couldn't be more boudoir-esque. For a minute you might wonder whether you have actually just walked into a brothel (before you try anything, you haven't!).

Yet, at the same time, it shows the modern side of the Beirut party scene with the resident DJ playing a mix of electronic and house to the uber cool crowd - very much long hair and tattoos - whilst the VJ (not as dodgy as it sounds) lights up the walls.
