The Victoria

BARCHICK SAYS

From the outside The Victoria could be just another old local, but from the inside this place has got it going ON. With snakeskin booths, portraits of pigeons that have the bodies of women, Union Jack bunting and dangling lampshades that your gran would die for. We say slip onto one of the faux animal skin seats and get hungry; this is no ordinary pub grub. The guys behind Soul Food have done the menu so they’ve got the whole Southern grub thing covered; jambalaya, pulled pork, Cajun fish cakes and hush puppies for y'all.

Drinks wise they’ve got just about everything that BarChick thinks should be in a bar… killer Bloody Marys (check out their Sunday deal), cocktails we’ve didn’t think possible in a pub and plenty of craft and draft ales.

Swing by in the evenings and head upstairs for anything from comedy to good tunes. Plus there’s the backroom that’s all cartoon/city landscape graffiti, big ass Chesterfields and before you cosy up to it, that fireplace is fake with only a couple of glittery lights to heat you up.
