Every now and again, BarChick likes a bit of class and if that’s what you’re after then head down to the super sexy Salon 39. This place is run by Michael, the brother of Andreas from Brass Monkey - those boys have good cocktail making genes.

Inside this discreet little gem it’s all distressed walls, old lamps, photo frames, a couple of stuffed crows... standard sitting room stuff. But don’t think it’s your usual run-of-the-mill old school drinking den, these boys get bored easily and like to mix it up (they’ve even got a load of meat in some of their cocktails) and wow were they all delicious. Kick back and watch them work their magic.

Bacon infused tequila? Or some foie gras infused pear brandy? Yes and Yes, but if you ain’t feeling it there are plenty of other options. This place gets seriously busy, but it’s a civilised crowd; you won’t get anyone starting a fight or throwing up on you in the loo queue. It screams hot date and those of you who wanna eat there's a dining area at the back, just make sure you book in advance. Dress up in your best clobber, spend the whole night here, throw a party, and grab a blanket if you nip out for a fag, they’ve thought of everything!
