Barchick Says
Definitely BarChick’s favourite bar in Copenhagen, that is, if you can find it! Hidden on a residential street, look for the big black door at no.16 (not 19 like we were told) and you’ll find yourself at The Union Bar. Don’t act too smug just yet, the hard part isn’t over, you’ve still gotta get past big Lewis on the door. Normal door politics don’t apply here and don’t, whatever you do, say you know British owner Paul, this won’t get you anywhere other than out on the street. We were instructed to try saying we knew the c**t from Birmingham, which worked (oh and if you are a chick, dressing a little slutty always helps).
This place has rocking music, dancing chicks and great drinks! If you actually do know Paul and are on the right side of him, you may be lucky enough to get access to the even more secretive hidden bar upstairs, The Bureau. Needless to say BarChick was led up there on arrival, taking the best seat in the house, propped up at the bar. This is where the real party’s at. Jeffrey was over from America on our visit, and was possibly the coolest barman we have ever met, he fed us cocktail after cocktail, and although our vision was getting blurry, our taste buds weren’t. These drinks were faultless.
