BARCHICK SAYS

If you like to spend your nights drinking in museums (and we do) but not in a creepy Dan Brown sort of way, this little stalwart on the Lisbon bar scene delivers on all levels. The surprisingly cavernous inside follows through room after room each themed and incredible, packed with memorabilia and collections from toy soldiers to … A warren of rooms has a decidedly military flavour, each cramped and rammed full with its own collections. There’s a back room with pool table where locals who’ve seen it all before like to hang out of a Friday eve but the first time visitor should be suitable distracted by the phenomenal interior.

There’s much and more to see, and all of it more interesting than balls on a table (depending on your intentions). Drinks don’t come cheap by Lisbon standards but a good Bar Chick knows that it’s all about where you spend those drinking cents that counts and drinking in a bar as extraordinary as this is not something you’ll do often. Friday nights are best for cocktails and there’s a huge selection of teas through the week.
