Forget 241 drinks. This Soho joint is serving up two bars in one!
Downstairs in 68 it's all about the vino, and the menu is like a party filled with your favourite guests. From crisp, dry whites to bouncy, juicy reds. On a date but not sure if they're worth splashing the cash for yet? There's a few pages of £20 bottles that give a sh*t loada bang for their buck, and over 45 varieties available by the glass if you feel like trying a few. Ask your bartender for some advice if you're overwhelmed. They steered us into the arms of a succulent Cartlidge & Brown North Coast Cab Sav, and a crisp Domaine Grossot Chablis from Burgundy that would pair well with a porch swing on a summer's day.
More of a cocktail lover than an oenophile? Get yourself upstairs and into Boston, the sexy low-lit speakeasy on the first floor. This is where you'll find BarChick as the night gets later, hanging with the impeccably dressed bartenders at the art-deco style bar, though there are plenty of nooks for you to get cosy in one of the oak-panelled rooms this bar is made up of, if that's more your thang. The drinks up here are inspired by the crooked streets and shady alleys of Soho. BarChick still had a taste for wine and ordered the Greek St Bookmaker, made with Fords Gin, Pinot Noir syrup, Averna Amaro & Black walnut bitters. Thick and fruity and good enough to get an audible "f*ck yeh" from us.
