These guys impressed us with Bonnie Gull and then they set up shop under the railway arches next to Hoxton station. Bare brick walls and black steel details keep the design clean, but it’s still got a warm and friendly kinda vibe.
One railway arch is dedicated to the bar area with a few banquettes, tables and bar stools. There wasn’t one item on the cocktail list BarChick didn’t want to try. It’s packed with good old British stalwarts like marmalade and Earl Grey tea. The Krank (Scotch, Vermouth, ginger liqueur and rhubarb bitters) hits you hard and fast or, if you need a bit of a pick-me-up try their classic Bloody Mary made with chorizo infused vodka or their mean Irish coffee. For those pretending to be healthy (you don’t fool us), go for one of their hangover drinks, like the Unbeeten (beetroot juice, apple juice and ginseng liqueur). Nice work brothers.
Lull away an afternoon with a few bar snacks or come here for dinner with a big crew. With great wines, amazing food and impressive cocktails this place is perfect for any occasion. There’s also a massive sixty person terrace looking out over Geffrye Street, bring on the sunshine.
