What to Order

Pisco Sour – Pisco Quebranta, lime, sugar, syrup, egg white and amargo chuncho bitters

Barchick Says

Pisco’s getting dead trendy, and if you haven’t been on it already then this is the place to drink it.

Ceviche is not only a mega new Peruvian restaurant, but it is also home to London’s first Pisco Bar. That’s right – other than the beers and wine, there will be nothing but this delicious Grape Brandy in the cocktails, it’s kinda like an Armagnac only it hasn’t been aged: it’s good. Not feeling it? Then try one of their Macerados a.k.a Pisco infusions (cherry, lemongrass, physalis, apricot, cinnamon bark, ginger or hot native Peruvian chilli pepper), which can come straight up for 3 quid, or in one of the 12 cocktails, they’re pretty damn delicious.

The beers are Peruvian, naturally, and they branch out on the wine too by taking you to Argentina, Chile and Brazil. Go with it, it’s interesting. Now you’ll need some nibbles, and don’t expect the national dish of guinea pig, cos luckily you won’t get it. What they do have is a bunch of sharing style plates – date and mate friendly! The Peruvians’ answer to peanuts seem to be crunchy corn, but we say go all out and hit the Ceviche (thin slices of marinated fish, seafood or veg – healthy!), it’s awesome… as are the Grilled Skewers. Oh and don’t miss the native Quinoa (pronounced keen-wah), it would be rude not to try it.
