Barchick Says
We all know that Dabbous is THE hottest restaurant in London, but did you know that downstairs hides one of the city’s hottest bars? If waiting three months for a table to dine on the stripped back fancy British food upstairs doesn’t do it for you, descend to Oskar’s bar for some bad-ass cocktails and bar snacks in the industrial, rock n roll style basement run by one of the hottest guys in the game, Oskar Kinberg.
Drink barrel aged cocktails by candlelight at communal tables surrounded by exposed, industrial brick walls, if it feels familiar it should, they used the same interior designers as All Saints. The bar snacks come from the same guy who’s getting all the buzz upstairs, Ollie Dabbous, and his crispy, boneless, chicken wings with garlic aioli are actually one of the best things you’ll ever eat. We’re not kidding. You can’t go wrong with the steak sandwich either.
Try a Mellow Yellow, a smoky Martini style cocktail with tequila, Cointreau, house made cigar syrup and a spritz of whisky. Don’t let the cigar syrup put you off, it tastes a bit like salty caramel.
They’ve got a few beer cocktails on the list too, BarChick loved the Giddy Up, a mixture of tequila, elderflower and beer. Tuesday nights are live music nights, where you can eat your chicken wings while taking in some rocking tunes. Why not?
Drinks are £8.50 but with a small pot of olives at £3, take your card – you’ll definitely be staying for more.
