The guys behind Rebel Dining Society have opened this contemporary Mexican joint in the heart of Shoreditch inside the dark and divey Catch Bar .
With mega barman Ryan Chetiyawardana (ex-Whistling Shop) in charge of the cocktails, you can expect some seriously good drinks on the list, teamed up with even better food. It’s all about the tequila, and it goes perfectly with the street food style menu (but if that’s not your thing you can also order from the Catch Bar’s cocktail menu). We’re talking baja fish tacos, lobster ceviche and braised pork belly burritos! Get the plantain croquettes for sure and wash it down with the slushy, Margarita-ish Taqueria Toreador.
BarChick loved their deconstructed Sangrita that they got on arrival. It’s basically shots of Jose Cuervo Tradicional tequila served on a board with cherry tomatoes which are then dipped into their spicy celery salt mixture… they’re damn good.
Death by Burrito is open from 5pm-10pm Monday-Saturday, so head here early evening with some mates, get the drinks and food in and then come 10pm get up and get involved in the Catch Bar party. This place can get seriously crowded, with good vibes and banging tunes. Nice.
