Welcome to the Hunter S. The team behind this place know exactly what they're doing... well, they did smash it at the Hemingway. One of the guys from Soul Shakers is at the helm, and it's full of taxidermy… tick, tick, tick - booom!

It's an old pub done good with simple interiors, a load of comfy seating and a lot of stuffed animals; bears/peacocks/buffalos. Plus they play great tunes all the time, so if you're not feeling it on arrival, you soon will be. Drink brown spirits like they're going out of fashion, they've got over 150 of ‘em; Japanese whiskies, some serious Scotch and a lot of other wicked spirits can be found on the very handsome back bar. They don't do cocktails, so simply have ‘em straight, on the rocks, or however takes your fancy. They do do great Bloody Marys, they do have great draughts and ales, and the wine went down swimmingly!

The food is good, real good. Gold stars go to the Scotch egg and those roasts are exactly what the doc should order you on a Sunday. Oh, and the men’s loos are pretty cool, classical music. All in all, this place is awesome, what’s not to love? Unless you're vegan.
