Rooks are social birds happiest meeting new crews, and flying around with other types of birds rather than on their own. Clapham’s cute wine bar, The Rookery, has a ‘Cheers’-like, neighbourhood vibe, where Claphamites can avoid the piss heads and Walkabout lovin’ hoards on the High Street (there is a time for that too though). Marvel at the eager joggers on the Common whilst kicking back at the bar with a Bloody Mary (or later try and clock the doggers in the dark).

Not just social, these Rooks are box tickers too – all the classic cocktails, rockin’ tunes and a food menu so seasonal it changes daily. They’re all about good value, all biodynamic with their wines, and keep it local with their Meantime brews on tap.
The vibe is all a bit Lower East Side New York with the standard exposed brick walls, swinging light-bulbs and tables made from recycled butcher’s blocks. BarChick tends to sit fire side, drinking her way through the wine list, and snacking on the delicious bar food.
