Barchick Says
In true BarChick style, the party starts in the lift here: sparkly floors, flashing lights and its trendy etched mirror; it’s like a mini nightclub for all of the 10 second journey, so have your favourite tune ready on your phone and rock out in style.
Out with the lift/club and cue the view, sun up or down its pretty special: London Eye, the usual scaffolding and tourists struggling to climb on the Lions down below! All this to the sound of Vista’s beat (aka lady softly singing covers with a jazz piano and drum synth).
Drinking? How could you not want to try the Spice Up You Life, served with a full chilli? and if you ain’t into spice then check out the refreshing Frutti Del Sole. Sweet tooth? Then its all about the Black Truffle Alexander: Black Moth Truffle Vodka and sweet sherry shaken with fresh double cream. They got food too: salads, platters, tarts and terrines, but if you haven’t got much of an appetite or you’re feeling the pinch of the £12 cocktail prices, then the free shot glasses of corn nuts and olives will suit you just fine.
Open pretty much all year round, they even give you blankets in winter (great to get under with a date!). Quick tips: wear a trilby and you’ll fit right in, and if you can get there before 4pm you’ll avoid their very silly £5 cover charge (having said that it does keep the snap happy tourists away).
