This is one of those New York City gems in Chinatown that you gotta search for like a hound, but it’s more than worth the google map stress. When you've finally found it, sprawl out on one of the stripy sofas or put that bum on a red velvet puff and scope out the amazing concoctions made from spirits in medicinal-looking bottles. Your "prescriptions" are served to you by bartenders in freakin' lab coats, so you're in capable hands.

The Apothéke team is all about that farm-to-bar philosophy: they pride themselves on creating all of their cocktails with local & organic produce from greenmarkets or picked straight from their rooftop herb garden—we love a bartender with a green thumb. We also love the European apothecary and opium den vibes.

The menu is split into sections that run the gamut from stress relievers & pain killers to stimulants & aphrodisiacs. BarChick ordered a Deal Closer (cucumber, vodka, local Chinatown aphrodisiacs, mint, lime & vanilla essence) from the aphrodisiac section and it did just that. Sorted. But when we're feeling green, we go for the Fresh Start (carrot, celery, gin, oregano essence, ginger, agave nectar & lime). Apothéke, you’ve pulled & we're stoked.
