BARCHICK SAYS

Sure, everyone likes a speakeasy, but what happens when you fancy something a bit more bright and well-lit? Every now and then we like to remember exactly what our mates look like. For these occasions, Pouring Ribbons is perfect.

The cocktails are a big draw here, too. With veterans of Death & Company and Milk & Honey (namedrop - Joaquín Simó) behind the scenes, you’re notgambling with your evening too much when you rock up for a drink. Navigating the menu is easy/fun too, with indicators as to how ‘Refreshing' to ‘Spiritous' then how ‘Comforting’ to ‘Adventurous’ the cocktail is. On BarChick’s particular evening visit, we were feeling seriously adventurous but wanted something refreshing - too much to ask? Not for these guys! Toddlers and Tiaras was the way forward with mezcal, rum, citrus and wildflower honey to its name. We couldn’t have chosen better ourselves.

The space is relaxed - you could hit this place with your crew for some good times, or simultaneously bring your family when they’re in town. Lots of wood panelling, comfy booths and a back bar that looks like someone’s idea of a serious booze cabinet. Plus it’s open until 2am, so don’t be surprised if that chilled afternoon session rolls into the next day…
