Madame Koo can be found in a well concealed cave invisible from upstairs to the untrained eye. This dark, naughty boudoir exhibits red curtains, exposed brickwork, hidden rooms, plenty of dark corners and of course a banging sound system, canny.

This is the kind of club where you can really get your shimmy on, but BarChick recommends heading in early and having the place to yourself, catch up with friends or put on a one-man show on the dance floor, whatevs.

It’s so dark in here you won’t even need your beer goggles; students, models and fitness trainers (we think) are rich pickings and everyone is hot and youthful in this flattering light. Go for mixers, simple, classic and effective or if you want to take it up a notch the Champagne cocktails are pretty good too, we’d recommend the Raspberry Ripple, which tastes exactly as you’d expect, no riddle here.
