Barchick Says

If you’re in t-shirts and distressed denim, you probably won’t feel at home in here. Cash is king, and the guests must have plenty of it (check out the Jeroboam of Louis XIII on the back bar… BUCKS!) On BarChick’s visit we met a man who lived in the hotel and owned homes in 7 different countries, and next to us a lady surrounded by designer shopping bags with Chihuahuas in diamante collars and leopard skin jackets play fighting under the table…  standard!

Don’t be phased, this doesn’t mean this place is by any means inhospitable. Plush royal curtains, old classic art, huge book cases and quiet jazzy piano plays softly in this elaborate library type bar. You’ll get used to it very quickly.

As expected the drinks are first class, we particularly loved the Hot George Punch, served in a martini-stemmed tea cup, but if you aren’t sure what to get the bartenders are some of the friendliest in Paris and are sure to make you something to your taste. Don’t miss the flower designs in the courtyard (this hotel spends 1 million Euros each year on their floral decorations) – checking those out is almost worth the €30 you’ll spend on each cocktail alone! Bargain… well almost.
