Found in a quiet neighbourhood near Trocadero, this place may be completely unassuming from the outside, but once inside you’ll be glad you didn’t miss the party. But don’t be fooled, buzz the doorbell for entry into this small, elegant boudoir-esque bar. Little has changed since its days as a club: red banquettes, dim lighting and shiny stripper pole remain. No prizes for what this place used to be (you are in the red light district after all). Owner Greg is all about handmade ingredients (even the ice balls are hand carved!), and like so many Parisian bars Le 29 is ‘sans carte’ just tell Greg what you fancy and he’ll whip it up for you.

BarChick went on a cold, rainy night and Greg’s Spiced Rum Old Fashioned warmed her right up, just be warned – the drinks are strong, and it doesn’t take long for that stripper pole to look inviting, when in Rome right?
