There’s a trend hitting the cobbled streets of Rome in the shape of dedicated beer bars like Open Baladin. The back bar says it all with an enormous selection of beers crafted in their own brewery just down the road – take your pick from over 30 different flavours of spiced beers/malt beers/hoppy beers... the list goes on and they are all delicious.

After tasting a load, BarChick went for the Enkyr, a light and fruity Roman (obvs) beer to accompany the steak tartar and wings which we knocked back without a thought (they serve food till after midnight – nice). BarChick’s date was feeling manly and went for something Belgian and strong, just like him. At €5 for a glass it’s the perfect place to take a man date and get educatin’ at the bar, or share a large table with some of the bustling locals. Make friends, we did.
