If you're looking for something a little shinier and slicker than the pubs and pivovars in Old Town, head to Emblem, a new design hotel, and make a left for the grey themed sunken bar area. It's small, slick and sexy and the menu is heavy on the American Whiskies, classic cocktails and Californian wines, which makes a nice change from many of the bars in this area.
Local bar talent Eduard Ondracek put together the drinks and they're some of the best we've tried in Prague. The Wall Street Manhattan made with orange bitters is a winner, as is the Orange Negroni which comes served over a Campari ice ball. Bring a date and take a corner table for candlelit cocktails, and if they’ve got no chat then the people watching is pretty decent from this slightly below street level spot. For all this glam the prices are actually pretty decent (cocktails at 175 CZK, about 6 quid), so we say settle in for a few and order some plates of sliders from the bar snack menu.
