6 Acres

BARCHICK SAYS

6 Acres is located directly behind the historic statue of Gassy Jack in the heart of Vancouver’s Gastown. Nestled in the oldest brick building in Vancouver, 6 Acres epitomizes the Danish idea of ‘hygge’ – warm, cosy, candlelit. It’s an unpolished nook, filled with solid wood furniture and hung with antique oil lamps. The staff are stylish and cool - one part hipster, one part hippy and two parts friendly and knowledgeable.

Every seat in 6 Acres is intimate, the tables filled with small groups of people. Sit at the bar downstairs to make new friends, or if you really need to show off, take them to the bar upstairs to admire the view of the cobbled streets below.

The main reason that 6 Acres attracts a tasteful and discerning crowd every night is its extensive list of bottled beers - it’s one of the biggest in the city. There is also a feature list that guarantees something for every palate - BarChick loved the Leffe from Belgium. The food here is rustic, yummy and meant to be shared. Thursday is a great night to bring your favourite people, your penchant for a good brew and your taste for good conversation.
