Guilt & Co. is appropriately built in a tunnel which used to run alcohol through the city during prohibition times. Find it by following the stairs to the left of Chill Winston down and underground. This place appears to have been carved out of the earth, with a stone floor and walls – only burning candlelight and the echoing of laughter warms these dark recesses.

There is always a sultry songbird on stage, with live music ranging from jazz to cabaret to new band showcases on the weekend. They’ve also got board games, playing cards and Jenga for the tables - every day is a good day to be at Guilt & Co. This place has impeccable table service and its seating only, so cuddle up with your mates and make friends with the cuties at the table next to you.

The list of wine and cocktails is short but sweet - BarChick heartily recommends the East of Eden. The real magnum opus is the beer list, which features a well-curated selection of lagers, ales, IPAs and even gluten-free ciders. The food is posh pub grub, keep an eye for the kangaroo tartare - go there if you dare. They don’t take reservations so come early, stay late…
