Score is one of the best bars in the West End. It’s got a big, sunny, street-side patio overflowing with locals and hot, friendly staff, who seem to know half the people in town.

The walls are covered in a mix of TVs and local artworks; super-sized photos of models and sugar skulls made of bottle caps. Cram into one of the huge booths with your friends, and if you want a distraction free drink, get a key from the bartender for the lock box. Put your phones in, lock it and talk to each other – whoever uses their phone first has to buy the table a round of ‘penalty shots’ before they can have their phone back.

Go on Saturday for their hip-hop brunch, and order the Checkmate Caesar. This is one insane take on a Bloody Caesar. The Canadian hangover staple is garnished in a crazy balancing act with a full roast chicken, Score burger, slider, chicken wings, pulled pork mac and cheese hot dog, roasted veg and a brownie. Game on.
