Who doesn’t love a decent bonfire and a bit of firework action? Exactly. It’s the ultimate middle man between Halloween parties and Christmas jumpers, only with less of a focus on fancy dress which for some may be a relief. Get the sparklers in, get mulling some drinks and find a hot date to touch up in the dark.
Battersea Park, SW11
Battersea Park is like the gift that keeps on giving; it’s got pedalos, meerkats and even a Peace Pagoda, and what’s more they always pull out all the stops on Bonfire Night. Last year spectators were wowed with laser shows and a fantastic display choreographed to some great beats, and this year it’s set to be even better. Do arrive hungry and thirsty, they’ve got bars and food with everything from fish and chips to hog roasts, don’t miss this if you’re in the area.
Battersea Park // Saturday 2nd November // Gates open 6pm, display 8pm.
Barnes Sports Club, SW13
This display has been lighting up the skies for more than a decade, so you know it’s going to be pretty explosive. There’ll be DJs, bands and mulled wine to get you hyped before all the banging starts, as well as a lot of food to keep you standing. There’s also a make a Guy competition, but sadly this is just for the kids so put your glue down.
Barnes Sports Club // Saturday 2nd November // Gates open at 5.30pm, display at 8pm // Tickets: £10 adults, £5 children – 020 8748 6220
Cleveland Square Fireworks, W2
Bayswater baby, not Ohio. The best thing about this display is that it’s on Tuesday which means your fireworks fix doesn’t have to end on the weekend. Hooray! Sparklers, mulled wine, a big bonfire, fireworks to music and a barbeque… whoever said the sun had to be shining was plain wrong.
Cleveland Square // Tuesday 5th November // Gates open 6pm, display 7.30pm // Tickets: £10 adults, £5 children. Available from The Cleveland Arms on Chilworth Street.

This Back With a Bang fireworks display is set to be pretty epic. Star Fireworks will be doing the display (they’ve just been crowned 2013 champion), there will be a fun fair for all, a buzzing street food market, a German bier festival and even some ice skating. Good work.
Alexandra Palace // Saturday 2nd November // Gates open 2pm, display 7.30pm // Tickets adult £8, £5.50 children.
This display set to music is epic, FREE and attracts over 100,000 spectators… but we say donate to keep it that way. Get down early because the fun fair opens at 4pm, so allow time to cram in the cotton candy and ride the helter skelter before the display begins. Bars, food, stalls and roaming entertainers will keep everyone happy. Donate here!
Blackheath, SE10 // Saturday 2nd November // Gates open 4pm, display 8pm.
Drinks after: The Old Brewery
Danson Park, DA6
The fireworks are set to music and are fired into the night sky over a big lake, so all the reflections/beats make this a pretty unforgettable evening. These guys go all out with a fun fair, food stalls, bars, ice-cream vans (maybe not), glow sticks and even a music stage to rock out on. Worth the trek.
Danson Park, Bexleyheath // Saturday 2nd November // Gates open 6pm, fireworks 8pm // Tickets: £4 – £6
Seems they do fireworks as well as tennis. Good work guys. Fireworks to music, food and a fun fair, sounds good to us. Bring the kids along early for the smaller display then hang around for the main event.
Wimbledon Park // Tuesday 5th November // Gates open at 5.15pm, children’s display 6.45pm, main display 8.30pm // Tickets: £8 adults, £6 children. 020 8545 3956
Yessss, another one that is being held on a Tuesday, so all you pyromaniacs can get more! Taking a more original approach, the park will be split into ‘four seasons’ with food, drinks and entertainment to match so play in your favourite. Live music, Morris Men, a fun fair, fire dancers, a very exciting visit from Fireman Sam and FREE fireworks. You’d be mad to miss this one.
Brockwell Park // Tuesday 5th November // Gates open 5pm, display 8pm // Tickets: Free!
Richmond FC, TW9
Phoenix Fireworks are choreographing this year’s display, and if their awards are anything to go by then it’s set to be a blast. It’s time to get patriotic as the fireworks will be set to the best of The Beatles… we suggest you get your Sergeant Pepper freak on. Expect a lot of mulled wine and a lot of live music, our kinda night.
Richmond Football Club // Sunday 3rd November // Gates open at 4.30pm, display 7pm // Tickets: £10 adult, £5 children.
Bishops Park Fireworks, SW6
We’re all looking for an excuse to dress up as our favourite superhero… unless that’s just us. Well now you have got the perfect one because this display is being set to superhero music… wicked! There’ll also be a fun fair, food stalls and bars… take em all down.
