When the Boys from Bramble and Last Word Saloon open a new bar, you know it’s gonna be love at first sight. This place ain’t no basement bar like we're used to, for starters this bad boy is on street level and actually lets some light into the building. Crazy. You won’t miss it with the huge “liquor” arrowed neon sign out front. It’s retro, for sure, but not too kitsch or over the top. With tables for groups or a comfy bar to prop up, we felt right at home as soon as we arrived.

The name of the bar is represented with the way they run things here, it’s all done very differently. The “lucky” aspect of things is shown by them only having thirteen spirits behind the bar and only thirteen cocktails on the menu at any time, which will all be changed quarterly! This keeps the bartenders on their toes, and they killed it with the drinks they made us!

The liquor part comes from the idea of a liquor store in America... oh yes, they have the bottles for sale in the bar for customers to recreate their drinks at home (similar to Bramble). They are open as licenced sellers until 10pm each night… kinda like a bar within a booze shop, we like (a lot), especially as many of the bottles on the back shelf aren’t available at supermarkets so its kinda like a hot hub of limited edition or exclusive bottles!

PLUS if that wasn’t enough, there is a record deck, so bring in a record or flip through their collection and make a request, they also sell the vinyl played at the bar too… madness. We were eyeing up their copy of Chic… seems to be the soundtrack to this summer!
