Bar La Rampa

Bar La Rampa

BARCHICK SAYS

This sick new Soho joint is taking ya to 1950's Cuba.

Jump in our Chevvy, baby. This is Bar La Rampa, and she's bringing the vibrant vibes of Havana to Soho with mid-century wickers, a sick menu of reimagined Cuban cuisine, rum-laced cocktails and live music that'll make ya want to take the party to the streets.

Small plates and Central American inspired dishes are created by the TATA Eatery legends. No menu can celebrate Cuba without featuring the iconic Cubano Sandwich, and they make theirs with Pork Belly, ham, and raclette cheese. Come to mama! Swerving the meats? What these guys have managed to do with cobbed corn is so epic it should be illegal; a vegan alternative to ribs, they've slathered it with smokey chipotle and tanged it up with lashings of lime for an addictive plate you won't want to end. And then there's the corn chips with a line-up of salsas taking you through a journey of heat, and a bowl of rich, creamy black bean dip. Boy, these guys know how to bring the goods. Woof!

Then come the drinks. Rum's the word, amigo, and the true taste of Havana hits with the fly Daiquiri variations created by Marcis Dzelzainis who used to shake things up at 69 Colebrooke Row. Our pick? You can never go wrong with a Watermelon Daiq if you ask us, but loyalists will love the take on the Hemingway classic. You'll find us drinking ours at the rattan fronted bar, with an extra plate of those corn ribs giving us the energy we'll need for when the music starts.
