Enter Archive & Myth, the not-so-secret secret bar inside the Hippodrome (yes really). Just as you thought you were heading to The Hippodrome to lose some cash in the casino or your dignity at Magic Mike, you actually find yourself in one of the sexiest late-night bars in town; the newest venture from award-winning mixologist and industry ledge Jack Sotti.
If you’re planning date night this is where you want to head as it’s all romance, glam and mood lighting. Enter through a password protected door, head down under the casino and into a sultry series of rooms with a beautifully lit bar smack bang in the action. The concept behind it all was the creation of a bar that realistically could have been lurking under here ever since the casino opened in the late 1800s. Think vintage decor, secret hideaways, memorabilia and art work, antique gramophones and - of course - classic cocktails. But not necessarily how you might expect them.
No-one likes to be surprised with something tiny on a date, unless of course it comes in the form of one of Archive & Myth’s tiny cocktails. They’re in on the mini drinks trend and the menu is split into ‘minors’ or ‘majors’. aka. small or big. It’s wicked as if your pockets allow you get to try pretty much everything on the minors menu. When you get hungry you can order straight from award-winning modern Chinese restaurant Chop Chop by Four Seasons. Spring rolls with a Sazerac? Don’t mind if we do.
You’ll spot us up at the bar - it's our favourite seat in the house to kick things off before sneaking away into a moody corner to lounge on couches and hide behind velvet drapes.
