This cocktail bar is kinda 'glam’. It’s large, modern, clean cut and gets lively come the weekend. Settle in at the long, dark marble and leather fronted bar, or take a seat in a booth, also leather and frothy in colour.

There’s a wall of jazzy paper and some interesting art work, but aside from that the bar gets its personality from its cocktails, which are a world away from the average Cosmos you get in these parts. The bartenders are friendly and are willing to lend a hand if your booze knowledge isn’t up there, and with a back bar like theirs it’s no surprise they like to experiment. We drank the Old Fashioned Plum Daiquiri with Appleton Estate VX Rum, OVD Demerara Rum, plum, lime, maple syrup and plum bitters and the Scorched Lady with Brokers Gin, Briotett Mandarin, scorched lemon, egg white and absinthe rinse, both were good.

There’s a big restaurant out the back, but we say hit the bar snacks, we got stuck into the Dutch Scotch eggs and the garlic and chilli prawns to soak up the booze.
