There’s nothing we love more than a bar that blends old and new, traditional and modern. It’s not easy to get right, but when it’s achieved then it’s something to shout about. The Churchill Bar & Terrace is one such spot that’s nailing it.  

First up - the decor. This place can be found around the back of Selfridges. As hotel bars go, this one's a beaut. It's elegant and refined - think cosy sofas, snug armchairs and a roaring fire when the temperature drops. Inside you’ll find luxe art deco décor; bookshelves curated by Daunt Books and original photographs and love letters between Sir Winston Churchill & his beloved Clementine adorning the walls. A good spot to set the mood for a date. 

As for cocktails - sure, you can hit up one of their classics or get going with the whisky, but we’re extra pumped about their sustainability-focused cocktail menu. This 12-strong list of drinks is inspired by 10 themes of environmental concern, including renewable energy and wildlife conservation. Try the Be Hive - a mix of gin, pollen, hibiscus mead and local honey. It comes served in a reusable glass made from 100% beeswax and repurposed kitchen ingredients, reminding us of the importance of our buzzing little friends. Then there’s the multisensory Up In The Air, which highlights the issue of air quality. Sustainable sipping in a sexy space? We're all for it.
