If you are looking for the best of British game and seafood, then look no further, because there aren’t many places as civilized and that demonstrate such fine food and service as Mr Corrigan’s establishments. If it’s fish you prefer, then head to the delectable Bentley’s on Swallow Street, but if it’s meat, then here you can do no better.
The walls appear to be metallic gold, pretty lamps hang from the ceiling and the whole place boasts a charming air of superiority, but not in a stuffy way. Perch at the beautiful shiny marble bar (like the array of silver birds, you’ll see), the seats are leather and generous (and here you are right in the heart of the action). Watch the barmen as they fix up amazing cocktails, both classic and contemporary. You are in very safe hands so order your favourite and they will more than deliver. We had perfect Bloody Marys and then indulged in the wine list at the recommendation of their exceptional French sommelier who advocates free pouring, our hero. If you're alone, don't worry because the menu will more than keep you entertained, it's detailed, interesting and informative.
The bar menu changes every couple of weeks, but it is so delicious you could have the same thing every day and not get bored. We had asparagus with lavender powder, perfectly tender lamb and a delicious elderflower tart decorated in gold leaf accompanied by mouth-watering dessert wine. We would eat here every day of the year if we could.
Why thank you Mr Corrigan.
