Roast

BARCHICK SAYS

Borough Market is a good place for food and drink lovers, but there’s only so much bread and oil samples, milky teas and men in fleeces shouting “TWO FOR A PAAOOUND” you can take in life. So, when it gets a little too busy and you’ve seen enough funky looking fruits and fish heads for one day, then it is time to escape into Roast.

Hidden in Floral Hall overlooking all the madness below, this is the place to go for some authentic, rustic British food. With fresh fish and meat, seasonal game and some damn fine British ingredients from the traders downstairs, you know you won’t be disappointed! Thirsty? Course you bloody are. The cocktail list here is full of classics, plus they have their own Martini section as well as a great Bloody Mary section. Get the Bloody Maria if you’re a tequila lover and let them know how spicy you like it, but if you’re not into tomato juice their Sazerac was banging. If you’re peckish don’t sweat it, the bar snacks here are INSANE, seriously large portions (if you order the onion rings you might need to share).

PS. They've recently unveiled their very own London Dry Gin, infused with juniper berries, coriander seeds and angelica root. Perfect in a G&T, an Earl Grey Martini and a Singapore Sling.
