Set in the heart of Manchester, this is The Alchemist’s Spinningfields little sister, and was born out of the former’s popularity. If you’re into your drinks then this place will get you excited; every drink is pretty special and the menu changes regularly.

Drinks wise go for A Night At the Movies (El Dorado, Amaretto and lemon garnished with popcorn) or a Cereal Killer (geddit?) complete with Cheerios, what a treat. BarChick’s fave new addition to the menu is the personalised hip flasks, filled with a choice of cocktail and yours to take away with you if you like. Try the 3 1/2oz of Hipflask Happiness (Beefeater Gin, Briottet Raspberry and vermouth), BarChick took her hip flask out shopping afterwards, soz credit card.

The gothic, decorative bar is totes the main feature, and so it should be. Kick back in the outside seating area in the summer and don’t freak out if it p*sses it down; there’re patio heaters and a cover to protect you from Manchester’s weather… and it’s not too spenny either.
