Named after one of the finest culinary treats the sea has to offer, Ormer is an all-round performer; somewhere you can go for breakfast, coffee, a conference, brief meeting, lunch, dinner and cocktails. Pow.

This Tardis-like joint is situated just off the high street and is far larger than its prim, low profile façade might suggest. Large boutique windows give way to a crisp, informal atmosphere. The restaurant seats fifty and the open kitchen gives diners the chance to see chef Shaun Rankin’s magic. Hit the outdoor terrace on the first floor if you’re looking for somewhere secluded with mood lighting and lush vegetation, it’s simply unbeatable as an open air space in St. Helier.

It’s only in recent years that balanced drinks and mixology have been available in Jersey, so BarChick was happy to see a Sazerac printed firmly in the menu. Cocktails here have a refined air with the Rhubarita, the Chili Martini and Basil Smash all a sure win. Well played Jersey.
