The Old Rectifying House

BARCHICK SAYS

A Tudor fronted building lit with fairy lights. The rear of this bar was once part of the most important distillery in the Midlands, now it’s one of Barchick’s most important boozing spots, so in a way the history lives on.

On the ground floor you’ll find a spacious yet comforting bar and restaurant. Exposed bricks, an aesthetically pleasing island bar, mismatched chairs and low light cast a mood that’s more Hoxton than Worcester, a feat that’s not easy to achieve we’re sure.

Upstairs is more of the same plus natural light that spills through the French windows. It’s important to know that the beer garden can be accessed from both floors, it’s one of our favourites and the high performance patio heaters mean you can fag and booze it up all year round, result. The cocktail list is by far the most experimental and advanced in town, it’d more than hold its own in any capital city. We started with a Pecan Old Fashioned (Woodford Reserve over their own homemade pecan and vanilla syrup) and a Popcorn (popcorn infused Jack Daniel's , brown sugar, bitters and maple syrup foam) and continued along the same lines until BarChick’s poor date had to stagger to work, bless.
