Gaucho Piccadilly is handily central but avoids that hectic feel, 'cos it’s tucked away just off Regent Street and located in a beaut of a townhouse that was the former home of a Spanish ambassador, don't cha know. They’ve also opened a terrace area out front, in case you like your steaks rare and served in the fresh air. The ethos of Gaucho is to serve impeccable steaks alongside Latin American warmth, flair and hospitality. You’ll get to see the cut before you pick, and your very knowledgeable server will talk you through the varieties on offer. This might include succulent sirloin, luxuriously marbled ribeye, or the cracking chateaubriand to share. If you’re spanking the company credit card, go for an exclusive "full blood wagyu" cut from Las Pampas - we dare ya.

With a non-meat eater? Don’t have a cow. There are a handful of tasty alternatives including the grilled sea bass and some knock-out gnocchi. It’s no surprise the wine list slaps - this is an Argentinian restaurant, right? We necked an absolutely divine Cabernet Sauvignon from Uco Valley, Mendoza. Oh yeah, and the cocktail list gives a good aperitif/digestif game. Start with a fresh and exotic Flor Del Mundo and finish with the Honey Punch - with the Ron Zacapa 23 rum, Hennessy VS Cognac, Remy Martin 1738 Cognac, black walnut and honey, it's a clear-cut winner.
