If you’re taking a girly girl (someone the polar opposite of BarChick) on a date, or if you’re catching up with the girls, The Botanist is the place. Guys looking for a pint? Keep on walking. Guys on the prowl? Stroll on in like tea cup cocktails are king, because chicks flock here like sheep.

The surroundings are pretty to say the least; white washed walls, foliage and lots of gardening utensils, so bring along any outdoorsy types. Take a seat at a table amongst wheelbarrows, planting pots and ladders - don’t bother perching at the bar amongst the jars of herbs and barrels of beer because it’s really not as nice. The front opens up onto the street, so for sunny days it’s a must. If you’re in the (flower) market for a drink that packs a punch, this isn’t the spot for you; the cocktails are floral, sweet and girly, but good regardless. Take your pick from a Rose Martini, Pear Sidecar, Cherry and Sage Sling, and a whole section dedicated to Martinis as well as a separate menu for beers complete with illustrations which will keep the men happy. If you’re really thirsty go for a Watering Can cocktail. BarChick did.

Out the back there’s a restaurant brimming with gangs of giggling girls and tables a deux feeding each other (gross). Wanting some comfort food BarChick got stuck into bangers and mash and ended up feeding her date some. When in Rome…
