It feels like you could be in a colonial train station, or a Parisian pre-war café. This place is charming, and with delicious Western food and sweet French music, it is the perfect place to come and unwind after a day of business or box ticking. Grab a table in the courtyard area, or if you are lucky sit on the mezzanine for some romance and people-watch your heart out (if you are not so accustomed to this heat then opt for the air-conditioned café).
Tuck in to the wine list, by glass or bottle (bottle, obvs), and set the world to rights as you work down the list. Best to stick to the local wine to avoid the tax (although the Torres Esmerelda Spanish white was delicious) so ask the maitre d’ what local bottles he would recommend. When in Rome right?
Don’t miss the food: they have delicious salads and great appetizers. Plus there is also a deli counter selling organic European brekky things if those Indian dosas don’t float your boat. This is a great place to come by day to escape the heat and the hustle, bustle and utter chaos of city life.
