Make your way along the pretty passage past the cool octopus mural and take the lift up to a bar that feels like it’s tried very hard to be cool. SOMEHOW it kinda works – don’t ask how, it’s all modern industrial slash Indian traditional with turbans under a ceiling full of pipes. So basically it looks either like a prison or a factory. Original maybe.
Grab a table or sit at the bar and hang with the friendly staff, get here early at weekends as it gets hectic. In terms of the drink, it’s best to keep it simple (like the décor), otherwise you might find their cocktails a bit sweet or lacking in fresh ingredients. Do try a Nasty Mary (or find someone to share with) it’s made with vodka, guava juice, Tabasco, lime and salt… it’s not as bad as it sounds, and like most bars here it comes in a pretty big glass (don’t worry if you can’t finish it they’ll give you a takeaway glass – London take note).
As the night stretches on the music gets louder and the crowd gets bigger, so definitely hang out for a while, cocktails are only 300R (£2.80) a piece and a Kingfisher is only 160R (£2) - stay all night if you want to. There is a fairly large food menu so you won’t go hungry, it seems that burgers are the most popular choice here so check em out, we did!
