La Conserverie

BARCHICK SAYS

Down a rather unassuming street in the 2nd, you’ll find this hat-trick of a venue. Traditional Japanese restaurant by day, modern European restaurant by night, and awesome cocktails at all hours. Match that with a quirky/sexy/fun decor and eye candy everywhere and you know it’s going to be good.

Dark walls with crazy paintings, exposed pipes and brightly-coloured furniture all dimly lit by lights made out of old jars and bottles gives it a bit of a Through the Looking Glass feel. You never know what you’ll find tucked away. The bar is packed with many bottles - some known, others not – and their drinks menu changes regularly, keeping an eye on the seasons for inspiration.

This places gets rammed, so book ahead over the weekend, especially if you want dinner, which trust us, you do. The evening menu was designed by Simone Tondo of the award winning Le Roseval, so you know it’s going to be bangin’.
