Bartenders
I'm going to say home in Belfast, but living in London presently.
I was at Milk and Honey and now Inko Nito Restaurants in LA.
Mayahuel in New York for sure, their use of tequila and mezcal is stunning, and lots of perfectly balanced drinks, back home I enjoy the Duke of York, an amazing Irish whiskey selection and great Guinness, when I’m in London it depends on the night, the Artesian is always very interesting, but like bars like Trailer Happiness and Lab for some fun drinks, not forgetting a late night stop off in Milk & Honey of course!
My favourite drink I would have to say is probably something short and potent, I enjoy gin martinis, and negroni’s with a variation using Punt E Mes, but Im really enjoying Brooklyns at the moment, lillet, amer picon, maraschino balanced perfectly with a nice rye!
Probably at the Beefeater 24 Global Cocktail Competition round, having lots of bartenders, and people involved in the industry watching me make drinks and splitting a shaker all over me and the guy beside me, so not only serving my drink, but smelling like it too!
Done what?
To be honest I'm open minded about the future, Australia is definitely on the cards at some point for some warm weather, but I would like to work in the states; New York, San Franisco and Portland definitely all interest me because of the amount of great drinks and bars there are.
The best chat up line is definitely a guy who is just relaxed, chills and enjoys conversation, the worst? Probably the typical Belfast way of doing stuff and shouting down the bar “'you're f*kin stunning, u are” it’s a moment that’s left me speechless and the female at the bar many times, compliments don’t come much better!!
I'm actually English and not Irish, but shhhh, the accent deceives everyone haha.
I never pre judge on a drink, always wait till the customer is sat comfortable and get a good chat with you and we’ll go from there…
The more gin the better…
A pilot!
